Hey, its me again, just a note, I really don’t believe I live in a democracy, but I grew up in one. People voted for Chavez for change, not for a revolution. I dont think he is a commie, he is just an egotistical former military officer who thinks he knows whats right all the time, so he does not need to talk to anyone.

There’s probably not many things as disappointing as someone you thought could ring in change turning out to be just a different kind of despotic powergrabber.
But call me naive, I refuse to let that be a reason to let democracy (however fragile and new) fall by the wayside. And there really is no way I can condone the US’s stance on this.
If the regime sucks, to put it simplistically, the US should pressure them into reforms. But under no circumstances should they show the kind of wishy-washy attitude towards what was a coup.
I agree, I would prefer if the US does not get involved.
