Ik zag op de reddits een post voorbijflitsen over Time Loop movies that don’t suck, en omdat ik niets beters te doen heb, heb ik meteen de eerst ervan bekeken.
The Jacket, uit 2005, met Adrien Brody , Keira Knightley, Kris Kristofferson, Jennifer Jason Leigh en Daniel Craig.
Meer dan wat er op imgur bijstond (“A Gulf war veteran is wrongly sent to a mental institution for insane criminals, where he becomes the object of a Doctor’s experiments, and his life is completely affected by them.”) wist ik niet, en wou ik ook niet weten.
Achteraf ben ik gaan kijken op de reviewwwebsites om te zien wat andere mensen er van vinden. Op IMDB krijgt hij iets meer dan 7/10, maar bij zowel Metacritic als Rotten Tomatoes geven de critici hem nauwelijks 44%.

Ik volg het klootjesvolk: ik vond het een zeer schone weekendfilm, met uitstekende acteerprestaties, en een absoluut niet moeilijk te volgen verhaal dat toegegeven mierenzoet was, tot en met het liedje bij de eindgeneriek.
Ik had geen moment het gevoel dat het pretentieus was.
