Ik heb de afgelopen dagen de zes afleveringen tot nog toe van Black Mirror bekeken; Sandra vroeg wat het was, en ik denk dat ik iets zei van “het is gelijk Twilight Zone maar niet echt, en het is gelijk een komisch programma maar niet om te lachen”.
‘t Is geen klassieke reeks van opeenvolgende afleveringen, maar –zoals Twilight Zone– telkens een andere setting en andere acteurs.
De afleveringen hebben met elkaar gemeen dat ze zich in de min of meer nabije toekomst afspelen, in een wereld die min of meer de onze zou kunnen zijn. En dat ze dingen die nu al aan de hand zijn, uitvergroten. Black Mirror riskeert binnen een paar jaar hopeloos verouderd te zijn, maar het zal wel voor een hele tijd een tijdsbeeld schetsen –ook al zoals Twilight Zone.
