Dreamhost miserie

‘t Is weer koekenbak met Dreamhost. Plots waren al mijn sites (en die van Sandra) wég.

Ik ga kijken via FTP, en daar staat begod overal een “_1” achter elke directory. Direct hernoemd, en begonnen aan een boze mail naar Dreamhost.

Komt er een kwartiertje later een mailtje binnen van ene Javier, die me laconiek vertelt dat hij mijn sites afgezet heeft.

Nu ben ik dus al een tijd in onderhandelingen met de support alginder—en heb ik dan maar meteen deze mail teruggestuurd:

Hello Javier,

I am somewhat taken aback by the fact that (a) you didn’t warn me you were going to do this and (b) that you chose to disable all my sites, not just the “offending” one.

I have been in touch with support to warn them that there may be something going on with the combination of my website at https://blog.zog.org and the particular server it is on.

The site was moved to a different server some weeks ago and had no particular CPU usage problems there. The moment it was moved back, the CPU usage shot up again.

I haven’t changed anything on the site, either before or after moving. I’ve tested the site on a server of my own, with the exact same configuration and it runs fine. I have also tried upgrading the site to WordPress 2.0.1 (twice!) via your Control Panel, but that doesn’t seem to work.

I could manually upgrade, I suppose, but I really haven’t got the time nor the inclination to do so for the moment. So there is really nothing further I can do. I am looking to you guys to help me out here.

Nu, dat gezegd: ik heb maar meteen een backup gemaakt van mijn MySQL-database en de website. En ik denk dat ik toch maar alsnog aan een manuele upgrade naar WP2 ga beginnen. In de hoop dat dat het probleem oplost.

Verdju. Ik had er écht geen zin in, ik ben moe, ik ben slechtgezind, maar ik zie ze daar mijn website gewoon uitwissen als het zo verder gaat.
