Zeldzame woorden

Voor A Marginal Jew: Rethinking the Historical Jesus. Vol. 1: The Roots of the Problem and the Person zijn dit de 20 meest zeldzame woorden:

  1. pericope
  2. patristic
  3. exegetes
  4. pericopes
  5. christology
  6. targums
  7. aorist
  8. exegete
  9. prescind
  10. homiletic
  1. messiahship
  2. targum
  3. prescinds
  4. acritical
  5. theologizing
  6. encratite
  7. prescinding
  8. parenesis
  9. parenetic
  10. ecclesial

Een meer typisch YA-boek, The Giver:

  1. newchild

  1. overflown

  3. standardize
  4. nightclothes
  5. interdependence
  6. quizzically
  7. handwork
  8. luxuriating
  9. chortled

A Court of Thorns and Roses, niet-zo-slechte romance:

  3. worktable
  4. imbedding
  5. whorl
  6. flittered
  7. membranous
  8. vulpine
  9. snicked
  10. pronunciations

Een puca is een soort Keltisch mythologisch wezen.

Tempting the Beast, wél slechte romance:

  1. slumberous
  2. byplay
  3. silkily
  4. washrag
  5. onrush
  6. jerkily
  7. satiation
  8. bemusement
  9. notated
  10. engorging

  1. drowsily

  3. thrummed
  4. packrat
  5. penlight

The Heroes, uitstekende fantasy:

  1. drystone
  2. backplate
  3. fauld
  4. bowshot
  5. splatterpunk
  6. offbalance
  7. shitcake
  8. transferrable
  9. sallet
  10. hauberk
  1. revetments
  2. cookfire
  3. enoughsies
  4. sulkily
  5. spreadeagled
  6. gravedigging
  7. torchlit
  8. slaughterman
  9. cookpot
  10. vambrace

A padded jacket beneath, and thick leather trousers reinforced with metal strips, his wobbling window on the world the narrow slot in the visor of his sallet.

In mediæval armour, a light globular headpiece, either with or without a vizor, and without a crest, the lower part curving outwards behind.

  1. diamantine
  2. branchiate
  3. cacology
  4. rachilla
  5. acuminating
  6. hachured
  7. exuviated
  8. nictitate
  9. dermic
  10. tenebrosity
  11. photopsia
  12. exuviate
  13. susurrant
  14. diarthrodial
  15. aureate
  1. mesoglea
  2. effloresces
  3. mellification
  4. reciprocatory
  5. stentoriously
  6. contusing
  7. synesthetically
  8. liminalities
  9. gradates
  10. mottles
  11. foliated
  12. bedizen
  13. memetics
  14. saccading
  15. zoetropes
